This privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy” or “Policy”) is offered by StorySlab Inc., a Delaware C-Corporation, having its principal place of business at 327 West Fayette St, Suite 300, Syracuse, NY 13202 (hereinafter “StorySlab”, “StorySlab®”, “TabletSalesPro™,” “us”, “we”, “our”, or any similar expression).
StorySlab provides this Privacy Policy to inform you of our policies and procedures regarding the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Data we receive from users of one of StorySlab’s sites or by use of the services via your personal StorySlab domain (collectively the “Site”) and the application(s) connected to the Site (“App”). This Privacy Policy applies to information that you provide to us through the Site and the App. Our Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time, and we will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on the Site at https://www.storyslab.com/privacy/
This Privacy Policy should further be read together with the other applicable contractual documentation, such as the Terms of Service or Terms of Project Agreement, as applicable. These documents constitute the entire and exclusive agreement (hereinafter, collectively referred to as the “Agreement”) between StorySlab and you regarding the subject matter thereof, and these supersede and replace any prior agreements between StorySlab and you regarding the Site, App, Content, Services and Files (as those concepts are defined in the Terms of Service or Terms of Project Agreement), and the use thereof (including pricing).
1. Information Collection: The Personal Data We Collect
In the course of using the Site and App, you may provide us with Personal Data. This refers to information about you that can be used to contact or identify you, and information on your use of and activities at the Site and our App that may be connected with you (collectively, “Personal Data”). Personal Data that we collect may include, but is not limited to, your name, phone number, credit card or other billing information, email address, location, home and business postal addresses, and your navigational pathways. Personal Data may also include information you supply to us concerning your preferences and interests expressed in the course of use of the Site and App.
When you visit the Site and or use the App our servers automatically record information that your browser and/or App sends whenever you visit the Site or use the App. This information may include, but is not limited to, your computer’s Internet Protocol address, browser type, device type, app and operating system version, the web page(s) you were visiting before you came to the Site and information you search for on the Site or within the App.
2. How We Use Personal Data
Personal Data is or may be used for the following purposes: (i) to provide and improve the Site, App, Content, Services (as those concepts are defined in the Terms of Service or Terms of Project Agreement, as applicable) and other services, features and content offered by StorySlab, (ii) to administer your use of the Site, App, Content or Services, (iii) to enable you to enjoy and easily navigate the Site, App, Content and Services, (iv) to better understand your needs, interests and navigational pathways and patterns, (v) to fulfill requests you may make, (vi) to personalize your experience, (vii) to provide or offer software updates and product announcements, and (viii) to provide you with further information and offers from us that we believe you may find useful or interesting, including newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information on services and products offered by us or third parties. If you decide at any time that you no longer wish to receive any such communications, please follow the “unsubscribe” instructions provided in any of the communications sent to you.
We use information we obtain by technical means (such as the automatic recording performed by our servers or through the use of cookies) for the above purposes and in order to monitor and analyze use of the Site, the App and our services, for the Site’s and the App’s technical administration, to increase both the Site’s and the App’s functionality and user-friendliness, to better tailor it to your needs, to generate and derive useful data and information concerning the interests, characteristics and use behavior of our users, and to verify that visitors to the Site and the App meet the criteria required to process their requests.
Access to Personal Data may be made available to Site and App Administrator user(s) for those products where such a role exists. A Site or App Administrator (an “Administrator”) is defined by someone within the organization who provided you access to the Site or the App that hired StorySlab that oversees you and your actions on the Site and/or App. StorySlab does not assume responsibility or any liability whatsoever for the proper and lawful use of Personal Data that is provided to Administrators beyond confirming acceptance of the Terms of Service from those Administrators. If you have questions or concerns about the Personal Data that an Administrator can access, you should contact your supervisor, not StorySlab, to discuss such concerns.
StorySlab does not share, sell, rent, or trade Personal Data with third parties for their promotional purposes. StorySlab may share information collected with other companies that work on StorySlab’s behalf.
3. Information Sharing and Disclosure
3.1 StorySlab Users
Any Personal Data obtained during the use of Site and App may be accessible by the customer of StorySlab (which is the person or company that provided you with access to the Site or the App in cases where such an arrangement exists), which contracted for the original project, for products for which such functionality and for which such an agreement exists. You should be cognizant of your use of the Site and the App, and understand that your use of either the Site or the App may be monitored by various persons for various uses, all of which are governed by the agreement between the person or company that provided you with access to the Site or the App. Should you have any questions about how or if your Personal Data is being used, you should contact your supervisor or review the agreement between StorySlab and the person or company that provided you with access to the Site or the App, as applicable. StorySlab disclaims all liability for the use of your Personal Data through any means when accessed through the Site or App.
3.2 Service Providers, Business Partners and Others
We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our service, to provide the service on our behalf, to perform Site- or App-related services (including but not limited to data storage, maintenance services, database management, web analytics, payment processing, and improvement of the Site’s and App’s features) or to assist us in analyzing how the services are used. These third parties have access to your Personal Data only for purposes of performing these tasks on our behalf and are governed by the same privacy standards that StorySlab is with regard to your Personal Data.
3.3 Compliance with Laws and Law Enforcement Requests; Protection of StorySlab’s Rights
We may disclose to parties outside StorySlab information about you that we collect when we have a good faith belief that disclosure is reasonably necessary to (a) comply with a law, regulation or compulsory legal request; (b) protect the safety of any person from death or serious bodily injury; (c) prevent fraud or abuse of StorySlab or its users; or (d) to protect StorySlab’s property rights. If we provide your StorySlab files to a law enforcement agency as set forth above, we will remove StorySlab’s encryption (as applicable) from the files before providing them to law enforcement. However, StorySlab will not be able to decrypt any files that you encrypted prior to storing them on our servers.
3.4 Business Transfers
StorySlab may sell, transfer or otherwise share some or all of its assets, which may include your Personal Data, in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets of StorySlab or parts of it, or in the event of bankruptcy. You are not entitled to compensation of any kind as a part of any such sale of assets, merger, acquisition, reorganization or otherwise.
4. Customer Data
Customers of StorySlab may electronically submit data or information to the company’s services (“Customer Data”). StorySlab may access Customer Data only for the purposes of providing the services, preventing or addressing service or technical problems, at a Customer’s request in connection with customer support matters, or as may be required by law.
5. Cookies
Like many websites, we may also use “cookies” or similar technologies to collect information about you or your use of the Site or the App. A cookie is a small data file that we transfer to your computer’s hard disk for record keeping purposes. For example, we may assign a cookie to you, to limit the number of times you see a particular offer or to help better determine which offers we have that serve you. Please note that most Internet browsers will allow you to stop cookies from being stored on your computer and to delete cookies stored on your computer. If you choose to eliminate cookies, the full functionality of the Site and/or the App may be impaired by you. We encode our cookies so that only we can interpret the information stored in them.
Web beacons are images embedded in a web page or email for the purpose of analyzing or measuring site usage and activity. We, or a third party service provider acting on our behalf, may use web beacons or similar technologies to help us analyze Site and App usage and improve the Services.
6. Changing or Deleting Your Information
You may review, update, correct or delete the Personal Data provided in your registration or account profile by changing your “account settings” (for applicable Sites and Apps). In cases where a person or company provided you with access to the Site or App, such changes to Personal Data should be requested of that party.
7. Security
StorySlab is committed to safeguarding your Personal Data. In order to maintain the safety of your Personal Data, we implement a variety of security measures. We use a combination of firewall barriers, encryption techniques and authentication procedures, amongst other protection mechanisms, to maintain the security of your accounts and data, as well as to protect our systems from unauthorized access.
Our servers are in a secure facility. Access requires multiple levels of authentication. The system is monitored 24-hours a day, seven days a week. There are physical access controls for all buildings.
Your Personal Data is stored behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons. These persons have special access rights to such systems and are required to keep the information confidential.
If you share or transfer your Personal Data outside of the Sites or Apps, by email for example, we are not responsible for the release of your Personal Data.
Secure Sockets Layer (“SSL”) is a protocol designed to enable applications to transmit information back and forth securely. An SSL certificate is a means by which web servers prove their identity to web browsers, allowing a secure site to communicate privately with the web browser via the HTTPS protocol. An SSL certificate is digitally “signed” by a certificate authority that web browsers already trust. This allows your web browser to verify the identity of a secure site like ours before sending your Personal Data. All connections to our servers & APIs require SSL, ensuring your data is encrypted and secure at all times.
All payment transactions are processed through a gateway provider and no sensitive payment information is stored or processed on our servers. We are fully compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
8. Our Policy Toward Children
The Site and the App is not directed to children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with Personal Data without their consent, he or she should contact us at privacy@StorySlab.com. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with Personal Data, we will delete such information from our files.
9. What Happens When You Click on Another Internet Site?
You should be aware that other Internet sites that are linked from the Site, App or an email message from us may contain privacy provisions that differ from the provisions of this Policy. To ensure your privacy is protected, we recommend that you review the privacy statements of these other linked sites, applications, or other digital platforms, as this Policy does not govern those sites.
